Dinner Groups
Foyer Dinner Groups & Dinners for Eight
Since 1997, parishioners have been gathering as Foyer Dinner Groups to get acquainted, share meals, and form friendships. Most groups meet monthly for dinner at a member’s home; but in the past, formats have ranged from Sunday brunch to the annual parish picnic.
Responsibility for providing the food is shared, with the host family or individual preparing the main dish and the others bringing everything from appetizers to dessert. Groups of 8-10 are organized in the fall and every effort is made to mix up registrants who participated the previous year, since the goal of foyer groups is to introduce people who might not otherwise meet. There is a second opportunity to join in January.
Currently 80 parishioners are participating in nine foyer groups. Being part of a foyer group is a pleasant way to meet other parishioners and enjoy their company while sharing a meal. This year, the foyer program has partnered with Dinners for Eight, a group dinner opportunity for parents of young children as well as younger singles and couples.
Foyer group coordinators are Amelia Carew and Sandy Gerow , and the Dinners for Eight coordinator is David Frazelle.
