Paul Carew and Hugh Tilson
With the very enjoyable and successful parish-wide dinner and information exchanging event behind us, it is time to address the Every Member Canvass process that will begin in October. During the week of October 8, envelopes containing a pledge card, a letter from the vestry briefly summarizing the goals and objectives of the coming year, a short 'how-to' instruction for pledging via the Internet, and a return envelope will be mailed out. The mailing should be received prior to Stewardship Sunday on October 14.
Between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. during the week of October 15, the Every Member Canvass "phone-a-thon" volunteers will place a call to all parishioners who were mailed a pledge card. Parishioners will be asked if the mailing was received, and volunteers will answer questions about the campaign and request that parishioners thoughtfully and prayerfully consider their pledges for the coming year. And most importantly, parishioners will be asked to return the pledge card or respond via the Internet at their earliest convenience.
This is a new and challenging Every Member Canvass approach, and with it comes excitement and renewed commitment. We all look forward to its success.
