The time for the Every Member Canvass (the parish's annual fund-raising campaign) is quickly approaching. Based on the recent parish survey and comments received after the last canvas, this year's campaign will be significantly different in that it will be based on direct mail or response through the Internet.
Plans are now being made to have a 'phone-a-thon' during the week of October 15-19, when a telephone committee will contact each household to determine if they have received their annual pledge packet and if they have any questions about the campaign. Vice-chairs have been identified to help organize and populate the telephone committee (It's not too early to volunteer to be on the telephone committee and we will need plenty of volunteers.).
Pledge packets will be sent to each household a few days prior to the telethon. An official kick-off of the campaign will occur early in October, preceded by a parish-wide information session on September 23. The objective of this pre-canvas session will be to solicit input from the parish concerning needs and requirements for next year's budget. One objective of the campaign is to develop a budget in the fall, rather than waiting until early in the next calendar year.
