Summary of Actions Taken

At its November 2001 meeting, the vestry:

* Approved the distribution of $10,627 in budgeted funds to Episcopal seminaries in the amount of $2125.40 each to The University of the South, Virginia Theological Seminary, Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, and The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church

* Approved the recommendations of the Social Ministry Committee for distribution of discretionary outreach funds in the amounts of $300 for a Christmas party for prisoners' children and families, and of $750 to Cameron Graham's mission trip to Ecuador

* Approved the recommendation of the Social Ministry Committee for the expenditure from Faith and Reconciliation Initiative funds of $750 for registration fees for Joyce and Lew Roland of St. Paul AME to attend the International Cross of Nails Conference, December 5-7, at Kanuga Conference Center

* Received the recommendation of the Personnel Committee for the reinstatement of the position of sexton, with the request that the committee rework the job description and be prepared to present this revision to the vestry at its December meeting and that the junior warden, the rector, and the parish administrator respond to the recommendation at this meeting

* Referred the November report of the Personnel Committee and the report of the Elder Ministry Steering Committee to a select committee of the vestry, to be appointed by the rector and the senior warden, for study and recommendation, this committee to report to the vestry at its December meeting

* Learned that lower than expected revenues from unpledged income will have a serious impact on the budget

* Set Sunday, February 24, 2002, as the date of the Annual Meeting, to be held immediately following the 11:15 a.m. service, with a box lunch available

* Began initial plans for the 2002 vestry elections.
