Students Honored for Work with the Service with the Developmentally Disabled

Jean French

On April 15, people attending the special service with the developmentally disabled paid tribute to those graduating UNC students who founded the program and participate in the monthly service.

Ewan Toscano, a regular attendee at the service, spoke before the group expressing his appreciation to Henrietta Pressler for starting the program and to Sam Laurent for his guitar playing. Ewan said he loved the singing and the Bible stories acted out by the students and kept the date of the service on his calendar each month.

After the service refreshments were served -- a Carolina blue iced cake with ice cream amid Carolina blue and white balloons.

[The service is held the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. All are welcome to participate.]
