Go fishing for new clothes for a child's summer needs between now and May 19. Reel in a fish or seashell at the display in the parish dining room, buy the item listed, and return it unwrapped to the parish office by May 20.
You are also welcome to sponsor hiking boots, tennis shoes, fishing poles or tackle boxes or other needs for a child or cottage (10 children) or to knit sweaters (sizes 8 to 16 girls/boys in Navy or Celebration colors).
The residential treatment program at Thompson Children's Home provides a variety of therapeutic, educational, recreational, spiritual and healing ministries in a nurturing environment for some of our most abused, neglected, and vulnerable children. Thompson serves children from across the state of North Carolina who are in the care of the Department of Social Services Protective Services. The Chapel of the Cross provides year-round head-to-toe clothing for some of the Thompson children by sponsoring three annual clothing drives.
If you need more information or would like someone to shop for you, please call Molly McConnell or Nancy Roberson or Tiffany Taylor at the Thompson Children's Home, 704-536-0375.
