+ Vestry Actions
On April 14 the following parishioners were elected to serve three-year terms on the vestry: Paul Carew, Barbara Tolin Rowan, Dick Taylor, and Hugh Tilson. They join continuing members Terry Eason, Joe Ferrell, Bert Liverance, Suzanne Sauter, Barbara Schütz, Ted Vaden, Stacey Tompkins, and Robert Wright. New members will take office during the vestry retreat at the Summit on May 10-11. Thanks to all who participated in the vestry election process -- as voters, as election managers, and particularly to those who offered their services to the parish as nominees.
At its March meeting, the vestry:
* Met in an historic joint session with the vestries and clergy of the Church of the Holy Family and St. Matthew's, Hillsborough, to discuss and approve a resolution to enter with good faith into a partnership to implement the proposal for calling an Orange County Missioner, to endorse the proposed budget, and to authorize the rectors and a lay representative of each of the three vestries to form an executive committee to oversee the implementation of the proposal
* Authorized the rector, the wardens, and the chairs of the Every Member Canvass to launch a supplementary canvass to support the reinstatement of the position of Christian Education Director
* Discussed the Space Use Committee interim report and made plans to discuss it further at the April meeting and at the May retreat
* Approved the nomination of Sandra McClaskey to chair the Social Ministry Committee
* Approved the nominations of Robert Millikan, Jeffrey Cline, Dania Ermentrout, and Carolyn Rugen to the Social Ministry Committee.
