Vestry Actions

At its August meeting, the vestry:
* Received the 2002 audit
* Learned that the budget deficit for the year to date is significantly greater than last year at this time
* Accepted the full diocesan asking for 2003, in the amount of $147,612
* Engaged in initial discussion of budget priorities for 2003
* Authorized payment of the remaining $3750 cost of benches covering air conditioning vents in the Chapel from the Stoudemire Fund
* Approved the recommendation that Parish Administrator Barbara Hastings be granted an additional 30 days of unpaid medical leave and continued health insurance coverage from October 1 through October 31
* Adopted an amended policy on the review procedure for mission trips, to delete vestry oversight of programmatic issues, while acknowledging vestry responsibility in legal and financial matters
* Learned that there will be a new medical student ministry involving a regular monthly lunch at the hospital and discussion of spiritual issues in the medical community
* Made plans for its retreat on September 14.
