vestry election are the outgoing members:
Terry Eason, Joe Ferrell, Barbara Schütz,
Stacey Tompkins.
Sunday, January 26
Vestry nomination period begins. Lists of eligible communicants
and nomination forms will be in the dining room and the tower
room. There will be a box in the dining room in which nominations
can be placed. Nominees should prepare a brief (<250 words)
biography and submit it to the senior warden.
Sunday, February 9
Nominations close at 6:30 p.m. Election managers (outgoing
vestry class) will verify eligibility and make sure that
all biographies
have been submitted.
Monday, February 10
If needed, preferential ballots will be mailed to adult confirmed
communicants in good standing. Preferential ballots will be necessary
if there are 10 or more nominees. Ballots should be returned
to the ballot box in the dining room.
Sunday, February 23
Deadline for returning preferential ballots is 6:30 p.m. Election
managers will meet to count ballots. The rector or senior warden
will call final nominees with instructions.
Sunday, March 2 - Annual Parish Meeting
Vestry nominees will be introduced. The meeting will be held
in the chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Sunday, March 23
Vestry elections will be held after all services. A majority
of votes cast is needed for election. Nominees will be notified
by the rector or
senior warden; election results will be announced in the March
30 issue of Crossings.
Sunday, March 30
Run-off election will be held if needed.
Friday/Saturday, May 16-17
New vestry members’ terms begin at the end of the first
session of the spring vestry retreat at the Summit.
