Christian Households Book Study

At the conclusion of "The Dream of God," Verna Dozier claims, “It is the task of the church, the people of God, to minister within the structures of society.” There is no more basic structure of society than our households.

Beginning Monday, March 10, the Rev. Lisa Fischbeck, Gathering Priest for the Orange County Mission, and the Rev. Brooks Graebner, Rector of St. Matthew’s in Hillsborough, will lead a discussion of Thomas Breidenthals’ book, "Christian Households: The Sanctification of Nearness."

Breidenthal is an Episcopal priest and a professor at the General Theological Seminary. In his book he challenges Christians – whether they be single, married with children, widowed, living in partnership or community – to claim their ministry of radical hospitality and faithful living in the context of their various households.

The series will take place Monday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 at St. Matthew’s in Hillsborough, March 10, 17, 24, and April 7 (not on March 31).

Copies of the book are available in the parish office.
