Feast Day of Pauli Murray

June 22, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Wed. June 22, 2022, 7 p.m.
The annual service to commemorate the life and work of the Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray will be held in person and online this year. Bishop Anne Hodges-Copple will officiate, and the Rev. Winnie Varghese, rector of St. Luke’s, Atlanta, will preach. Ramon Holloway, St. Titus’ choir director and organist, will lead a choir from within the Durham Convocation.

Anna Pauline “Pauli” Murray was an American civil rights activist who became a lawyer, gender equality advocate, Episcopal priest and author. Drawn to the ministry, in 1977 Murray became the first Black woman to be ordained as an Episcopal priest.

Registration is required for in-person attendance and will open soon. The service will be livestreamed from the church through St. Titus’ Facebook page and the diocesan YouTube channel.
