Rev. Sharron Dinnie, founder of Kwasa College in Springs, South Africa, will be visiting The Chapel of the Cross October 24 – 29

The Global Mission Committee is pleased to inform you that Rev. Sharron Dinnie, founder of Kwasa College in Springs, South Africa, will be visiting The Chapel of the Cross October 22 – 29, 2023! She will be accompanied by Benita Burger, Head of the Primary School at Kwasa, and two female sixth grade Kwasa students, Ziyanda and Luyanda.

COTC has been in relationship with Mother Sharron for more than ten years. This is her fourth visit to COTC and we have previously organized two pilgrimages to South Africa. When we first met Mother Sharron, Kwasa was a pre-school. Today the school has an enrollment of 500+ students and provides classes for students through Grade 7.

Mother Sharron will join us for the My Spiritual Awakening Speaker Series on Tuesday, October 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel with a reception to follow.

She will also preach during the Sunday morning services on Sunday, October 29, as well as speak during the Adult Formation hour that morning.

In addition, as part of welcoming Ziyanda and Luyanda and helping them to connect with American children around their age, we invite members of the parish with teenage children of middle school or high school age to have them over for dinner or let them tag along to an afterschool activity on Wednesday, October 25; Thursday, October 26; or Friday, October 27. Drop off/pick up transportation for the Kwasa students can be provided. We believe this is a wonderful opportunity for your family!
