Outreach Ministry

The mission of the Outreach Ministry Committee is to serve God by showing Christ’s ever-present love, justice, and mercy through leadership and service in local ministry.

The committee promotes responsible stewardship in the parish through education, outreach activities, and charitable giving to local organizations. The Chapel of the Cross makes its building available to some 65 community and University groups. We are also home to the Preschool at Chapel of the Cross.

Current Community Projects Include:

  • Inter-faith Council for Social Service (IFC)
  • Rise Against Hunger
  • Giving Tree
  • Project 5000
  • Johnson Service Corps
  • Habitat for Humanity Build Days
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Diocesan support
  • Justice United
  • Special Worship Service
  • School Supply collections for the Refugee Support Center
  • CROP Hunger Walk

Our Baptismal Covenant, the Catechism, and the General Thanksgiving all specifically direct us to love others; strive for justice, freedom, and peace in the world; respect the dignity of all persons; and to help provide the necessities of life for those less fortunate than ourselves.

If you are interested in being involved in any of these projects or have an idea for a new project, please contact Scott Radway.
