Seed Fund

A new fund, the Chapel of the Cross Seed Fund, has been created to seed new early-stage community initiatives that might not have existed otherwise.

Our hope is that these funds will have a multiplying or catalytic effect; that they not only fund a discrete program but also spur further good by creating opportunities for the parish and others to be engaged in direct service in the community. Parishioners may choose to support Seed Fund initiatives through service or financial support.

The fund will be administered by an advisory committee of parishioners and the Vestry. The committee also welcomes ideas and funding for new early-stage initiatives from members of the parish and the broader community.

Seed Fund Parameters

  • Geography: Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, preference for Orange County
  • Scale: Grants of $20,000 – $40,000 per project
  • Catalytic Nature: The Seed Fund supports something new that might not have existed otherwise, an identified community need or a program started by a non-profit in an imaginative and innovative fashion. It can be a physical building, capital campaign or a new initiative or program that would not exist without this funding.
  • Deadline: Apply by April 10, 2024 to be notified by August 1, 2024.
