Lenten Offering for Episcopal Farmworker Ministry

The Faith in Action ministry is coordinating a Lenten offering to support the Episcopal Farmworker Ministry’s mission to increase the food security of farmworkers and their communities by providing free food items. EFwM serves approximately 125 families with each delivery, and close to 4,000 individuals per year.

Episcopal Farmworker Ministry responds to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families.  Agricultural work still falls under the 5 worse paid jobs category with an average individual income of $15,000 to $18,000. Food distribution through the ministry serves a very important function for the farmworker community of the area.

We will have a drive-through collection of requested food items at church on Saturday, March 27 from 10:00-12:00.  There is also a Target gift registry tgt.gifts/efwm, for contactless donations.

EFwM requests the following food items:

  • Vegetable oil
  • Instant coffee
  • Rice
  • Beans
  • Granola/Protein bars
  • Dried fruit
