University Ministry Lay Volunteers / Higher Education Faculty, Staff, Alumni
Connect with Chaplain Mary Cat, our priest Associate for University ministry to learn about volunteering with students as a mentor, as an ECM Lay Volunteer (LV), as a kitchen volunteer and/or as an ambassador and advocate for campus ministry in our parish and diocesan life.
Faculty & Staff
As an educator, support staff in higher education in any setting, connect with Chaplain Mary Cat for opportunity to gather in spiritual community for an affinity group Bible study, quarterly higher education Chaplain Chat, or to learn more about and lend yourself as a resource to fellow community members in higher education.
Are you an alumnus of ECM/higher education ministries at The Chapel of the Cross? We want to connect with you and (re)connect you to one another.
University ministry includes building relationships with ecumenical and interfaith partners.
Chaplain Mary Cat is affiliated with CMA—the UNC Campus Ministers Association which seeks to invite and equip our student leaders and community to be in relationship across difference.
Leadership training, Interfaith speaker series, service opportunities and more are example of our engagement with faith partners on and off campus.
LGBTQ+ Community Connections
ECM Chaplains are SafeZone trained. Our community is integrated with LGBTQIA+ identified community members. Theologically we hold an understanding that we are called to be in community with one another and to see God’s love and presence in each person we meet. We strive to be a place that is affirming and inclusive of our neighbors.
Contact Chaplain Mary Cat Young to learn more about how you can be a part of these ministries that support our University community.
